SALT LAKE CITY — A new proposal would create over 300 housing units in downtown Salt Lake City. The proposal would create a skyscraper at the site of the old Red Lion Hotel.
The Salt Lake City Planning commission just received an application to build near 600 South and West Temple. The application still needs to be reviewed and approved.
The proposed building would be one of the tallest structures in the city, standing at 36 stories.
Units would range from studio apartments to multi-bedroom penthouses. The plans also feature ground-level storefronts and retail space.
According to the proposed design, the development would “help strengthen the connections to and from Downtown and the rapidly evolving Central 9th and Granary Districts.”
For more details, the proposal is public record.
