SALT LAKE CITY –Time for the most notable quotes of 2024. Each year Yale University creates a list of the most memorable phrases or sentences uttered by someone of prominence in the preceding 12 months.
Some of these quotes will end up in books, others won’t. Almost all of them were focused on politics. But weren’t we all this year.
Number 5 quote of the year came moments after a bullet grazed Donald Trump. The words “Fight Fight Fight” will undoubtedly appear in the history books.
Tim Walz. Remember Tim Walz? Ran for Vice President. Number 4 was his mistake in the VP debate…
“I’ve become friends with school shooters, I’ve seen it.”
And see if you can detect a theme here. The #3 quote of the year is the Trump quote that launched a million tweets.
“In Springfield, they’re eating the dogs, the people that came in. They’re eating the cats.”
Cats got second billing. But not today. For the number one quote of the year according to Yale comes from Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala, which she signed with the words “Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady.”
Which raises the question whether that quote was really so important considering who won the election. And second, two quotes referencing felines? Let’s paws… and consider that “furr” all that happened this year… 2024 … will now be remember as…
“The Year of the Cat”
