“Mrs. Pentz is the most, genuinely caring teacher I have ever known. She is my 11th grade English teacher, and she makes learning English and grammar fun. I never really liked my English classes until I had her as a teacher. Everyday she comes into class and says, “Good morning my Sunshines!” Mrs. Pentz has the loudest, happiest laugh I have ever heard! When she laughs, you can hear her all the way down the hall. Everytime I hear her, it makes me smile.
I have a lot of problems with severe anxiety and depression, and so I have been absent from school quite a bit. Mrs. Pentz always showed she cared about me by asking my mom how I was doing, helped me get caught up, and didn’t make me feel guilty for missing class. When I could go to class, Mrs. Pentz made me feel loved, and that I really mattered to her. She would always find something to talk about with me that made me feel comfortable and at ease. When Mrs. Pentz sees me come into class, she comes over to me and speaks to me personally – which really helps my anxiety.
I feel Mrs. Pentz doesn’t receive enough recognition for all she does. She helps so many students like me who struggle with mental health issues. She has a bright and happy spirit about her that is infectious. No one can remain down around her for very long! I hope Mrs. Pentz can be honored for the truly amazing teacher that she is.”
