“Mrs. Stevens is an incredible fourth-grade teacher who pours her heart and soul into teaching. She works tirelessly to help the students of Riverdale Elementary grow and to give them a wonderful, enriching school year.

Every student feels valued and included in Mrs. Stevens’ class. Her creative Western-themed classroom includes a rotating job for each student and an opportunity to shine as “Sheriff of the Week.”

Mrs. Stevens emphasizes the importance of reading: she both helps her students become more skilled and proficient readers and also helps them discover the joy of reading through sharing books she loves and books she thinks her students will enjoy.

The annual Fourth Grade Program that Mrs. Stevens directs helps students learn Utah history and share their talents. Every year, she plans the enormously fun “Roadrunner Races” for the whole school.

Mrs. Stevens seeks out fun and engaging extracurricular games and resources for her students to use in the classroom and on the playground. She uses minimal screen time and provides her students with marbles, chess sets, and Legos during indoor recess. Focusing on academic achievement as well as engaging activities and learning opportunities, Mrs. Stevens is an amazing teacher!”
