Delta to open first-ever nonstop flight from Salt Lake City to Seoul

SALT LAKE CITY — If you live in Utah and want to travel to Asia without going through the layover process, you’re in luck. Because Delta Air Lines will soon be offering non-stop flights from Salt Lake City to Seoul, South Korea.
Delta made the announcement on Friday, saying it is “boosting its global footprint” with this new service that is set to launch on June 12, 2025.
The launch of Salt Lake City to Seoul service offers customers convenient access to Delta’s growing global network and ensures that virtually all U.S. demand is connected to Seoul via nonstop or one-stop service,” said Joe Esposito, Delta’s senior vice president of network planning.
Delta currently offers direct flights to Asia in just four U.S. cities: Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Seattle. Salt Lake City will join the club as the fifth member.
Utah Gov. Spencer Cox met with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol to discuss how this new route will “deepen connections between Utah and Korea.”
Cox said he is excited to see the growth in Utah’s global reach.
Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall also commented on this new addition:
Strong partnerships can often have the biggest impacts on visitors and our residents. From Delta’s Salt Lake City hub, the Incheon route will connect our capital city with 80-plus destinations in Asia, expanding our community’s global reach and what so many already know. Salt Lake City and the Mountain West are among the best places to visit and an even better place to call home.”
Travelers going from Salt Lake City to Seoul will ride the Airbus A350-900 and “can expect Delta’s renowned service and a uniquely premium onboard experience.”
