OREM, Utah — Orem police confirm that a motorcyclist was killed after an automobile crash Saturday.
It happened at 400 N. and State Street in the city south of Salt Lake City.
Lt. Nick Thomas with the Orem Police Department said the accident began as a two-car crash, and then one of those cars hit a motorcycle ridden by an adult and his daughter.
The male driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. His daughter was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, Thomas said.
An investigation continues.
It’s been less than a month since the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) and the Utah Department of Public Safety (DPS) began a public safety campaign promoting motorcycle safety.
The goal of the Ride to Live campaign is to reduce motorcycle crashes on Utah roads by promoting continuing education for all drivers and to encourage automobile drivers to keep an eye out for motorcyclists.
