Search and rescue operation carried out in Centerville Thursday afternoon

CENTERVILLE, Utah — Davis County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue responded Thursday to an operation in Deuel Creek Canyon in Centerville.

Reports came in at 10:23 a.m.. According to Davis County Sheriff’s Office’s Twitter account, a female in her 40s was hiking in the area, when she suffered a potential leg fracture.
Luckily, other hikers were around and able to call for help.

Upon Search and Rescues’ arrival, the hiker was hoisted with the help of Lifeflight and South Davis Metro Fire. From there, she was taken to a nearby hospital.
Davis County Sheriff’s office credits her quick rescue to accurate information given to dispatch.
