Car drives into lobby of Big Daddy’s Pizza, one injured

SANDY, Utah – A car drove into the lobby of Big Daddy’s Pizza in Sandy on Friday after reportedly hitting the gas instead of the brake when attempting to park.

The Mercedes came up over the curb and into the lobby of the store through the glass storefront. The one person injured was a delivery driver who had walked through the front door just before the incident.

Sandy Fire Battalion Chief Matt Stuebner estimates the driver of the Mercedes to be 50-60 years old.

The delivery driver who was transported to the hospital with back and lower extremity injuries is in serious but stable condition. Three other employees were in the store at the time and none were injured.
