PROVO, Utah — The anticipation of hosting the Arkansas Razorbacks will not be the only source of excitement at BYU’s stadium this Saturday. Hill fighter wings will perform a flyer-over.

Three football fields above the stadium, at 1,000 feet, will be a F-35A Lightning II flyover. Airmen from the 388th and 419th Fighter Wings will fly just before kickoff.

The jets will be flown by 466th Fighter Squadron pilots. Maj. Jefferson Page, A 2007 BYU alumni, joined by Arkansas native Lt. Col. Steve Jensen.

Combined, the pilots have 6,000 flying hours throughout their military careers.

Residents in the Salt Lake Metro area and Utah Valley can also enjoy the show, but should prepare for jets to be much closer than usual flying operations.

The planes maintain a fleet of 78 jets in a Total Force partnership, which according to Hill fighter wings, capitalizes on the strength of both the active duty and reserve components.

Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. at LaVell Edwards Stadium. Whether you are in the stadium or not, look for the flyover just before.
