SALT LAKE CITY — The public open house for the Bentonville Arkansas Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will begin Saturday.
In a news release from the church, invited guests toured the temple during the week of June 12-16. The public open house will run through July 1, except Sundays.
President Russell M. Nelson first announced the Bentonville Arkansas Temple in October 2019.
Church members in the area have previously had to travel to Oklahoma City or Kansas City to attend the temple.
The temple will then be dedicated by Elder David A. Bednar, of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, on Sunday, Sept. 17 in two sessions. Those sessions will be held at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Elder Bednar had previously lived in Arkansas for almost 20 years in the 1980s and 1990s.
