HERRIMAN, Utah — A 5-year-old boy is in critical condition after falling through a window Tuesday evening.
According to Sgt. Josh Jennings, with the Herriman Police Department, the incident happened at 5:14 p.m. Jennings says the child was waving at his mom through the screen of a window.
The screen gave out and the child fell 16 feet, according to Jennings.
The child was airlifted to Primary Children’s Hospital. The mother was cooperative with authorities during the investigation.
Jennings reminds parents to keep an eye on those window screens as they will pop out. He says the best safety measure is to keep the windows closed and locked.
