TAYLORSVILLE, Utah – Taylorsville High School announced the sudden death of its principal on Thursday morning. According to an email sent to parents, Mrs. Emme Liddell died unexpectedly on Wednesday evening.
The email from Granite School District Superintendent Rich Nye said that Liddell experienced health complications. No additional details were shared.
“We are very saddened by this news and extend our deepest sympathies to all whose lives were touched by her caring leadership,” read the email from Nye.
Information about memorial services will be shared with the Taylorsville High community when arrangements have been made, according to the email.
Supporting students
Nye’s email said Granite School District’s crisis team will be at the school today. They will be offering support to students, and they will be available as long as they are needed.
Parents of students at Taylorsville High School have been urged to talk to their students about her passing. “They need a caring adult with whom they can talk about grief and loss,” said Nye in the email.
The superintendent also shared advice from University of Utah Health on talking with teens about tragedy.
