Suspect identified in Sunday morning shooting in Ogden

North Ogden Police are investigating an attempted kidnapping that took place Thursday afternoon. Police say the suspect grabbed the young girl by the arm and said he would help her find her family. The girl was able to get away by kicking the suspect in the leg. Kristin Murphy, Deseret News
OGDEN, Utah — The Ogden Police Department has identified a suspect in a Sunday morning shooting.
According to a press release from Ogden City Police, officers received a report of a shooting involving multiple vehicles at approximately 10:46 a.m. The shooting was reported in the area of the 700 block of 30th St.
Upon their arrival, police found one injured male and a deceased male. The injured man self-transported to a local hospital where police say he remains in stable condition.
The Ogden Police Department’s Major Crimes Bureau, Ogden Metro Gang Task Force and the Weber County Homicide Task Force all investigated the shooting. Through the investigation, police have determined the shooting began with a fight between two individuals. According to the release, police believe a third individual pulled out a gun and shots were fired.
Police have identified Ricardo Caballero, 19, as a suspect in the shooting. According to the release, Caballero has been taken into police custody for questioning. He is currently booked into the Weber County Correctional Facility on charges of Aggravated Murder and two counts of Felony Discharge of a Weapon.
