SALT LAKE CITY — To ensure no one goes cold this winter, the state has an energy assistance program to provide heat for Utah families.
Eligible low-income households across the state can receive energy aid from the Home Energy Assistance Target Program.
The Utah Department of Workforce Services runs the program. By partnering with companies, such as Dominion Energy and Rocky Mountain Power, the program gives families discounts on their monthly bills.
Eligibility is based on several requirements and documentation is necessary to apply for the program.
Requirements include having one adult in the household. Also, the total household income must be at or below 150% of the federal poverty level.
More eligibility information is available on the HEAT webpage.
