Medical emergency kills driver at the wheel

DRAPER, Utah — A driver in Draper experienced a medical emergency and passed away at the wheel on Thursday evening, resulting in an accident. The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. on 12300 S. State Street.
According to Lt. Willie of the Draper Police Department, the driver experienced a medical emergency that caused their vehicle to overturn and crash into the median.
According to police reports, an off-duty paramedic witnessed the incident. They took the driver from the vehicle and started CPR until official responders arrived. Despite 30 minutes of continued life-saving efforts by paramedics, the driver was ultimately declared deceased.
Eyewitnesses shared that the driver may have been undergoing a seizure.
