SALT LAKE CITY — An Ogden fire that broke out on Friday afternoon has claimed the lives of one dog and one cat.
The one-story mobile home caught fire in the 1000 Block of Wall Ave in Ogden, according to a press release sent by the Ogden Utah Fire Department.
Both Ogden and Weber fire departments responded to the scene. Once firefighters reached the scene of the fire, they said they found that four occupants had evacuated the house, along with one dog.
After firefighters checked the house, they found that a dog and a cat had died in the fire.
Firefighters said the fire spread to a neighboring home, but they were able to keep the home from sustaining major damage.
The home that originally caught fire sustained $80,000 dollars in damages according to fire officials.
The four occupants of the home received help from the American Red Cross.
The Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
