HIGHLAND, Utah — Highland City suffered a burst pipe along the Murdock Canal Trail, flooding the streets of residential areas.
Kim Rodela with the Highland City Council told KSL that the water had flooded two. Rodela said that the water had also damaged the landscaping of two others.
American Fork and Provo City Water Association teams have been working to divert water and help pump out water from basements, involving over a hundred individuals, including neighbors and other volunteers.
Crews worked quickly to divert the flooding water to a nearby park.
Rodela said that one homeowner lamented the total loss of their basement and described the ordeal as swimming in water.
