SALT LAKE CITY — The University of Utah is rolling out a new app that it said will help students stay on track to graduate.
The school said students using the app can more easily schedule appointments with advisors, tutoring and access student resources.
Vice Provost for Students Success T. Chase Hagood said the app comes from a partnership with the Education Advisory Board. The app is part of their student success project, Navigate U.
Hagood said schools that have already partnered with EAB have seen up to a 15% increase in graduation rates, and a 12% increase in school retention. The partnership is meant to help students find resources to meet their specific needs.
“The app provides greater accessibility and better ways of knowing where every single individual student is on their path to completion,” Hagood said.
Hagood said the app invests in more than just navigation purposes.
“We’re investing in our infrastructure and our faculty and staff, our technology, our practices, our policies,” Hagood said.
The U joins over 850 other schools in a partnership with the EAB.
