SALT LAKE CITY – As fall training camps starting this week in college football, BYU’s head football coach, Kalani Sitake, outlines the challenges facing his team.

Sitake says he will decide who will be his starting quarterback as soon as possible.

“Now, when everyone finds out who it is, that’s another story,” Sitake said. “We’re getting them to compete and trying to get the best guy available that can make it work for us.

“We have a lot of great candidates.”

Senior quarterback Tanner Mangum returns from injuries that cut short his 2017 season.

Sitake says his coaches will help choose his starter, so he’s not worried who it will be.

“I have a wonderful offensive coordinator in Jeff Grimes, and we have three guys that we have hired onto that staff who have been offensive coordinators before and have gone through these quarterback battles,” Sitake said.

Sitake was the first guest on KSL Newsradio’s new nighttime talk show, “KSL’s Unrivaled,” with hosts Alex Kirry and Scott Mitchell. Join them from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. weeknights.

BYU starts the season at Arizona on September 1.
