PROVO, Utah– BYU will have its sixth football game of the season on Saturday, and finally, they can have some fans at Lavell Edwards Stadium. BYU (5-0) will face Texas State (1-5) for the first time.

Health guidelines allow for about 6,000 people in the 63,000-seat stadium.

“We are really excited about being back home. It’s really important to see our families and loved ones and supporters and fans at LaVell Edwards stadium,” said BYU Head Coach Kalani Sitake.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun; looking forward to performing at our best,” he said on this week’s “BYU Football with Kalani Sitake,” heard Tuesdays at 9 pm on KSL Newsradio.

BYU put out a video explaining the precautions and protocols.

Stadium rules for BYU football game attendance

People who had tickets to the first game against Troy will be attending this game. An email to them along with their tickets explained where they should park and which gate to enter the stadium.

The video says anyone who considers themselves a medically high-risk individual can specifically use gates 2 and 12.

No bags will be allowed, except diaper bags and necessary medical items and masks are required.

People must sit in their assigned seats, to spread out and ensure contact tracing. Hand sanitizer stations are throughout the stadium.

People will not be allowed to use cash or the water fountains in the stadium. But they will get a water bottle when they enter.

They asked people to take their own trash to trash cans to limit exposure to the cleaning crews.

The game kicks off at 8:15 pm and can be heard live on KSL Newsradio 102.7 FM/1160 AM or online, the app, or by asking Alexa to play KSL Newsradio. Pregame is two hours before.

BYU has played 3 home games without spectators. Their game in Houston last week had some BYU fans in attendance who either live in Texas or traveled to the game.

BYU is currently undefeated and ranked 11th in the Coaches Poll and 12th in the AP Top 25 Poll.
