Salt Lake City Police investigating a shooting that left one person hurt

SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department is investigating a shooting Wednesday afternoon that left one person injured.
According to police, the incident occurred at the intersection of 600 South 200 East at 4:35 p.m.
When police arrived on scene, they discovered a 20-year-old with a gunshot wound in the calf. According to police, a person who knows the victim put a tourniquet on the victim’s leg.
The victim was then transported to an area hospital for treatment.
According to the police investigation, a group of individuals got into a confrontation, which resulted in shots being fired.
Police say those involved in the shooting immediately left the area following the incident.
Authorities are still searching for a suspect. Based on the evidence, however, police say this was not random incident.
