HEBER CITY, Utah — Heber City Police announced Friday the identity of the woman who was found dead inside her home Thursday.

Police say Julie Ann Burns, 36, died of a single gunshot wound. She was discovered in her home by a coworker. The coworker came to check in on her after the victim failed to show up to work. The coworker found Burns deceased on the floor of her residence, located at 500 East 300 South in Heber City.

The suspect wanted for questioning in the case, Michael Grant Asman, 35, is considered to be armed and dangerous, according to police.

A news release Friday announced that several agencies are helping the Major Crimes Task Force look for Asman. The news release also states since a felony arrest warrant has been obtained by law enforcement, the U.S Marshals Service is also providing assistance in the search.

Police say that Asman was last seen at a Maverik convenient store Thursday morning around 1:30 a.m. Police say that he purchased some caffeine energy drinks. They believe he could be preparing to travel a long distance from Heber City.

Additionally, police say that he has been known to camp in the mountains. To this end, police ask residences to use caution if they plan a trip into the mountains. Notify law enforcement immediately if they locate the suspect.

The two daughters of the suspect and victim, ages 10 and 6, have been placed into state custody, while the suspect is still at large.
