Texas man found dead inside Arches National Park

MOAB, Utah — Officials at Arches National Park say a 66-year-old man from Texas was found dead Tuesday inside the park.
According to a news release, the Grand County Sheriff’s Office issued an Attempt to Locate for the man, who had been reported overdue.
After a search, park rangers found the man’s vehicle at the Sand Dune Arch Trail parking lot. Rangers then focused their search on the area and discovered the man, who was already deceased, just off of a nearby trail.
The National Park Service and the Grand County Sheriff’s Office are conducting a joint investigation into the incident.
