SALT LAKE CITY — Students at The University of Utah who want to save money with their meal plans no longer have to live on campus.
Discounts on student meal plans used to only be available to students on campus.
Once Vice President of Housing and Residential Education Sean Grube, and his team heard about that rule, they worked swiftly to change it.
“It was really important that we make that option available to everyone. Now all students can purchase a meal plan,” he said.
Grube says students can sign up through the Housing U Portal. Students can take advantage of one of five different meal plans built for different budgets.
He says it’s also more convenient as the fees are billed directly to their student account.
Grube ultimately wanted to make a meal plan accessible to the “great number of students overall.”
Grube revealed a plan for faculty and staff is also in the works.
