“Becca is my wife. She has been teaching special education for 20 years at Hillcrest. She is always going above and beyond for her kids. During Covid she drove to every kids home to see them and give them some things to work on. She is always staying after her contract hours because she can’t work on her paperwork and learning plans very easily during school hours. She is too busy helping kids during her prep. Becca also is the coach for her school’s unified sports in soccer and basketball. She encourages her kids to do their best and is great at getting them excited to go to practice and games.
Recently I was able to substitute as an aide in her class. I have gone to sports games or visited her class for 10min but never spent a day in her room. It was so amazing to spend time with the kids. It was also so inspiring to watch my wife in her element. My job as a substitute was easy. It wasn’t easy because the job is easy but because she is so good at what she does that she was able to orchestrate the madness into a sweet symphony. The kids for the most part were happy, well behaved and were enjoying their time at school. I was amazed out how smoothly things went. She is an amazing special education teacher.”
