Raeann Hansen, Early Light Academy

“Mrs. Hansen has truly had an impact on my child, and others, in a way that will last a lifetime. My daughter has autism and struggles with managing her emotions and choosing to engage in any task that feels overwhelming. Mrs. Hansen worked to build a positive relationship with my child first. Once she had her trust, she slowly began teaching her the skills and building her capacity to take on schoolwork and other tasks that were challenging for her. Over time, my daughter’s task completion, and as a result – her grades, improved. However, the greatest improvement was in my daughter’s belief in herself as being capable and competent at “doing school.” This year my daughter attends a large Salt Lake valley high school and these skills are on full display, even without Mrs. Hansen there to be her cheerleader. Mrs. Hansen’s teaching made this difference and we will be forever aware of this and filled with gratitude for her!”
