Expect delays in Spanish Fork Canyon returning from the long holiday weekend

SPANISH FORK – The Utah Department of Transportation is advising drivers to expect nearly an hour of delay if they use Highway 6 heading west into Utah County on Sunday.
In a press release, engineers stated the drive could take an extra 50 minutes longer than usual due to increased traffic between 11:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. The worst of the delay is expected from 2:30 p.m. through 4:30 p.m.
UDOT also stated U.S. 6 would be reduced to one lane of travel in both directions around Wellington due to construction. They said most projects are halted during holidays, but some lane restrictions must stay in place for safety reasons.
Delays are also expected on Interstate 15 on Thursday, July 3. Southbound drivers could see additional slowing throughout Salt Lake County from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Northbound lanes are expected to have the worst congestion in both Salt Lake and Davis Counties between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
