OGDEN, Utah — Fire crews responded to an abandoned structure fire in Ogden on Monday afternoon. When they arrived the abandoned structure was fully engulfed in flames.
The fire, at 29th Street and Washington Boulevard, sent smoke and flames completely throughout the abandoned structure according to the Ogden Fire Department.
Nearly 20 firefighters from Ogden City Fire as well as North Ogden Fire responded to the fire. In total, they brought with them three ladder trucks, one engine, one rescue truck, an ambulance, and the Battalion Chief.
There were no injuries.
Ogden City Fire officials said that they used 35,000 gallons of water to put the fire out, which they said was concerning because of Utah’s current drought conditions.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and damage is estimated at $250,000.
