Teenager dies in two-vehicle crash near Moab

MOAB, Utah — The Utah Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred three miles south of Moab Tuesday afternoon on S.R 191.
In a text message to KSL, Tara Wahlberg of the UHP, says a teenage female driver was driving northbound in a passenger vehicle. For reasons unknown to law emergency personnel, she entered the southbound lanes, where she struck a pickup truck pulling a trailer.
The UHP says the teenage driver died from her injuries. The condition of the other driver was not provided.
Both directions of S.R. 191 were closed for a time.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. No other information regarding the Moab crash was released.
