SPANISH FORK, Utah — A windstorm that knocked out power to nearly 16,000 customers in Spanish Fork on Monday left a lot of storm-related debris in yards and neighborhoods, that, now, has to be cleaned up.

So Spanish Fork City officials have waived some fees and are asking residents to drop off storm-related debris at a transfer station at 2450 West 400 South in Springville.

“Spanish Fork City has coordinated with the South Utah Valley Solid Waste District to help residents dispose of their tree/branch debris,” the city said in a statement posted to its web page.

Use Green Waste Voucher Program for storm-related debris

Each year, Spanish Fork residents are given three vouchers to use in the city’s Green Waste Voucher program, which replaced a composting program the city offered through 2015

(Georgina Crotts)

According to the city, residents of Spanish Fork have three of these vouchers to use each year, but they are limited by weight and load size. In order to help residents clear their yards and neighborhoods of debris left by the storm, the typical voucher limits will be waived through July 15, 2023.
