Construction worker hurt after 40 foot fall into concrete vault

KAYSVILLE, Utah — The Kaysville Fire Department says a construction worker was injured after falling roughly 40 feet into a concrete vault Tuesday afternoon.
The incident happened in the area of 1000 N. Mountain Road in Kaysville just before 5 p.m., according to a posting on Facebook.
According to the post, emergency personnel used a rope rescue system to get to and remove the patient.
Crews from Layton and Kaysville responded to the scene.
It took emergency personnel roughly an hour and 12 minutes to remove the victim from the vault. In an update, Kaysville Fire says the worker had serious injuries, but was in stable condition as LifeFlight departed the scene for the hospital.
