UTAH COUNTY, Utah — A team from the Utah County Search and Rescue attempted to rescue a family of six on Wednesday. For a time, the family was stuck on the Fifth Water Hot Springs up Diamond Fork.
The Utah County Sheriff’s Office says the trail was washed out during the flash flooding.
The family of six includes a mother, father and four children between the ages of 5 and 13. Two family dogs are also stuck as well.
Late Wednesday evening, the family informed emergency personnel that they were no longer in need of help. First responders will remain on scene until the search and rescue team returns to the command post.
So now the family and two dogs who needed help getting past a trail washout tells us they no longer need help from @UCSO_SAR to get past the flood/washout. We will be here until our SAR team members are back to the command post. https://t.co/UvnlCuT1wU
