Woman dies in rock climbing fall in Rock Canyon

PROVO, Utah — Provo police say a 40-year-old woman died Saturday after a rock-climbing fall in Rock Canyon.

Authorities say they were notified of the incident at 3:36 p.m. They say the incident occurred in The Balcony area of the canyon. A press release from Provo police didn’t say how far the victim fell, only that she did not survive.

Police detectives and the State Medical Examiner responded to the scene. Their investigation is ongoing. 

The identity of the victim was not released. However, the release did state that family members have been notified.

No other information was released.
