Crane collapse kills one near I-15 in Farmington

FARMINGTON, Utah — One person is dead following a crane collapse in Farmington. Two lanes of southbound I-15 near Glover Lane in Farmington were closed as a result.
This morning there was a fatal construction incident involving a member the West Davis Highway project crew. Two lanes of SB I-15 are currently closed. Utah’s transportation community is extremely close nit, and we all mourn the loss of this dedicated teammate.— Utah DOT (@UtahDOT) October 23, 2023
According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, construction workers were working on taking down a crane when the incident occurred. The crane fell and struck one of the employees, resulting in fatal injuries. The Utah Highway Patrol identified the employee as 42-year-old Darren Baddley from Gunnison, Utah.
The Department of Public Safety said the incident is under investigation.
