Crane collapse kills one near I-15 in Farmington

FARMINGTON, Utah — One person is dead following a crane collapse in Farmington. Two lanes of southbound I-15 near Glover Lane in Farmington were closed as a result.
This morning there was a fatal construction incident involving a member the West Davis Highway project crew. Two lanes of SB I-15 are currently closed. Utah’s transportation community is extremely close nit, and we all mourn the loss of this dedicated teammate.

According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, construction workers were working on taking down a crane when the incident occurred. The crane fell and struck one of the employees, resulting in fatal injuries. The Utah Highway Patrol identified the employee as 42-year-old Darren Baddley from Gunnison, Utah.
The Department of Public Safety said the incident is under investigation.
