SALT LAKE CITY — Three men were arrested after allegedly holding one girl hostage in Poplar Grove, Salt Lake City, with firearms.
On October 26, detectives were contacted by the victim’s father. According to an affidavit of probable cause, he told detectives his daughter took something from a residence on 948 W. 300 S. a few days prior to being held hostage.
The victim told an officer with SLCPD that she went to the home looking for her mother, but once inside she was walked to a back room and held against her will.
The affidavit said the three men keeping her in the room were Maylan Jock, Jerry Hunter, and Shawn Cook. The men told the victim she could not leave until her mother came back to the house. During this time it’s said Jock pointed a gun at her head.
Then, a fourth man named Davon entered the room and eventually let the hostage go.
Once the victim left, she went to another location on Gillespie Ave. At the other location, the hostage was with other individuals and heard a knock on the door. Once an individual opened the door, four men with their faces covered entered the home with firearms, according to the affidavit.
The victim gave detective descriptions of the firearms the men possessed. During a search warrant of the residence, firearms matching the description were recovered.
