SALT LAKE CITY — A letter was sent to all staff members assuring them they will still have jobs, even if schools close.
Salt Lake City School District considering school closures
Elizabeth Grant, Superintendent of Salt Lake City School District, told KSL NewsRadio she is excited to offer district employees some certainty and stability.
“There’s definitely been a lot of uncertainty among employees wondering whether or not their positions will be there next year,” she said.
Grant says if a school does close, causing displacement, they will get offers to work elsewhere in the district.
“In some ways, it was ultimately a rather simple decision because you know we value our employees and what they contribute to student learning, right,” she said “So we want to keep them here in our district. We want to keep them in their roles.”
