Fatal auto-pedestrian accident closes 1400 North near Utah State Campus

LOGAN, Utah — The Logan Police Department responded to a fatal auto-pedestrian accident that happened on Monday night.
Sgt. Cameron Roden with the Utah Highway Patrol said the accident happened at approximately 5:35 p.m. A 58-year-old woman was jogging westbound in the area of 1400 N. at about 750 E. At the same time, a semi and a Dodge Dakota pickup were traveling eastbound.
Roden said the pickup went to pass the semi on the left. Shortly after this, the woman crossed to the median and then in front of the pickup.
She sustained critical injuries, according to Roden. Following the accident, she was transported to an area hospital but died from her injuries shortly after.
According to the Utah State Athletics X account, 1400 N. is currently closed from 600 E. to 800 E.
Due to an auto-pedestrian incident on 1400 North. Please choose an alternate route. The road will be shut down from 600 east to 800 east.
1000 north or 400 north are available alternate routes to the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum for tonight’s game.

The UHP is currently investigating the incident.
