CEDAR CITY, Utah — Limited edition releases of vinyl records come out every Black Friday.

Lisa Cretsinger at Groovacious Records in Cedar City says this helps draw in new generations.

Brian Champagne, author for KSL.com and journalist at Utah State University, interviewed Cretsinger earlier today to get the scoop on record store day.

“It’s worked because a lot of the new generation have certainly become collectors of vinyl,” Cretsinger said.

According to Cretsinger, what makes today so special is some music that hasn’t been on a record is out today.

“Also some things that they dig out of the vaults that they put out for for collectors and fans,” she said.

Cretsinger said in addition to Black Friday, this is also done in April at record stores.

Groovacious Records has been independently owned an operated since 1992.

We want to hear from you.
