MILLARD COUNTY, Utah — Utah Highway Patrol arrested three minors and an adult in Millard County during a drug bust Monday. Police found 3,500 THC vape cartridges and a machete in their car, according to court documents and the St. George News.
Officers received reports about a suspect fleeing from police for alleged drug trafficking, according to an arresting document. Officers preformed a maneuver called a “vehicle takeover,” using tire spikes to bring the suspect’s car to a halt.
Inside the SUV, an officer said he discovered large boxes containing thousands of marijuana vape cartridges. Additionally, authorities found about 23 grams of psilocybin or shrooms, a “large machete” and “an AK-style airsoft toy gun.” The gun was painted black to hide the orange tip and labeling as if to “make it appear as a real gun,” according to the arresting document.
Edgar Omar Aguila, 18 faces two counts of drug distribution and an unlawful weapon charge according to the officer’s report. He was already facing a felony charge in Salt Lake City. Following the suggestion of the arresting patrolman, the judge in this case has ordered Aguila to be held without bail.
Court documents revealed no information on the three minors.
