TOOELE, Utah — A 4-year-old boy was hit by a car Thursday afternoon near Spencer’s Field in Tooele. According to Cpt. Colbey Bentley of Tooele City Police Department, the child was injured however is in stable condition.
KSL TV interviewed a witness, Chris Jones, who said they saw the child waiting on the side of the road with a young girl.
After passing the two children in his own vehicle, Jones looked back in his review mirror to see the boy run across the road. That’s when he was hit.
Life flight was originally dispatched, but on-scene medical teams determined that ground transportation to a Salt Lake area hospital was sufficient.
Police told KSL TV that “the driver of the car that hit the child stayed at the scene and possibly didn’t have time to stop for the boy.”
