Police seek help locating missing 16-year-old girl

VERNAL, Utah — The Uintah County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help to find a missing 16-year-old girl.
According to police, Ashbey Eckinger was last seen around 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 27, 2024, in Jensen, Utah. However, it was not known she was missing until the next morning.
According to a social media post by the sheriff’s office, Eckinger is 5′ 7″ tall and weighs 150 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair. Authorities said she may have died her hair black.
The post noted Eckinger has ties to Colorado, Texas, and South Carolina. Additionally, police said the missing teen was interested in reuniting with her mother whom she believed to be in Mexico.
