Salt Lake City hit the 80s, ties date’s record high temperature

SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City tied the record for the warmest April 12 on Friday.
The forecasted high for the day was 79 but the National Weather Service Salt Lake City measured a high of 81 degrees at the Salt Lake City International Airport.
The current record was made nearly 90 years ago in 1936.
The weather is expected to cool down over the weekend but the highs should still be 10 degrees above normal for the state.
The middle of next week will have a dramatic cool down where temperatures will dip to 10 degrees below normal.
