October 2019

Utah’s Morning News with Tim and Amanda tackled Daylight Saving Time on the Friday before we set our clocks back this year.  Beginning at 7:45, they were joined by a Utah State lawmaker who wants the state to be able to decide whether to follow Daylight Saving Time.  We took listener feedback via the KSL Comment Line, our Facebook page and text line in the 8:00 newscast, and at 8:15, Rep. Rob Bishop joined the show live to explain why his bill to give states the choice hasn’t gone anywhere since it was filed earlier this year.

September 2019

Utah’s Morning News was on the air live at 4 o’clock the morning of the big Snoqualmie Fire in Bountiful.  Tim and Amanda were on the air an hour earlier than usual discussing the fire conditions with live radio and TV reporters along the front lines and at evacuation centers.  Ahead of the biggest football game of the year in Utah, Tim and Amanda spoke to BYU head coach Kilani Sitake and Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham.  Those exclusive interviews kicked off a full day of special coverage that Thursday.  Finally, we spoke to Senator Mitt Romney only hours after his office announced he was co-sponsoring an emergency piece of legislation that would ban flavored e-cigarettes and regulate the vaping industry.
