Pilot identified after fatal plane crash in Centerville

CENTERVILLE — Centerville Police confirm that one person was killed in a single-engine plane crash just west of Legacy Parkway on Tuesday.
The pilot has been identified as Donald Nathan Higgs, 43, of Plain City, Utah.
At approximately 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, a small plane crashed in Centerville near Legacy Parkway and 1400 North.
Emergency crews responded to a field east of Legacy Parkway in Davis County.
According to Jay Hancock of KSL 5 TV who was on the scene, a body was visible from the cockpit.
It has been confirmed that the pilot is deceased. The Centerville Police Department is working on notifying the family.
