TOOELE, Utah — One man is in the hospital with a leg injury after a shooting in Tooele Friday night.
Cpl. Colbey Bentley with Tooele City Police Department says police were dispatched after a reported shooting at 11:25 p.m. According to Bentley, the shooting took place at White’s Trailer Park, located at 1120 W. Utah Ave.
Police say the 24-year-old male victim had been in a “feud” over the past year with the suspect, 24-year-old Brandon Martinez.
Martinez, allegedly, entered the victim’s home without permission Friday night. Following this, the two began to argue leading to Martinez pulling out a handgun and shooting the victim once in the leg.
After this, Bentley says Martinez fled the residence on foot. Though after he fled, police were able to track him down and take him into custody without incident.
Following his arrest, Martinez was booked into the Tooele County Jail.
Bentley says the victim was transferred to a Salt Lake City hospital. He is in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery, police say.
