LAYTON, Utah — A Layton man accused of killing his wife and her parents has pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated murder.
Court documents show that on May 19, 2023, Jeremy Lake Bailey “knowingly and intentionally” shot and killed his wife, Anastasia.
Bailey also admitted to then shooting his mother-in-law, Rebecca Stevens, and then his father-in-law, Donald Stevens. The court documents show that Stevens’ lived in Bailey’s home and as such were victims of domestic violence.
In his plea, Bailey acknowledged that he had given up his right to a speedy public trial by jury as well as his right to appeal a conviction.
The probable cause statement says that Bailey admitted to the killings multiple times to officers. Also, he expressed wanting the death penalty over a life sentence.
