SALT LAKE CITY — A fatal accident between a bicyclist and the Frontrunner occurred around 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
There is a bus bridge between Salt Lake Central and Murray Central in both directions.
The accident happened on 666 West and 900 South. The victim is 24-year-old Collin Teng.
Utah Transit Authority spokesman Carl Arky said two bicycles were crossing at 900 South, but only one of them stopped.
“We believe (the bicyclist) saw the train and tried to beat it, and didn’t get across the tracks in time,” Arky said.
No one else was hurt, but Arky said Fear Factory nearby is drawing crowds. Everyone should be careful around trains as they can’t stop quickly.
