WEST JORDAN, Utah — The Utah Department of Transportation is starting a major road project at 9000 South in West Jordan that could cause delays for commuters.
Beginning Thursday night and lasting two weeks in West Jordan, the road work will take place between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.
UDOT said they are installing a new canal irrigation line crossing on the south and east sides of the intersection at 9000 South and 1300 West in West Jordan.
Other construction drivers might see on 9000 South is regular maintenance work, UDOT said. That includes fixing potholes, restriping roads, and clearing gutters.
UDOT also said that people living in the area should expect overnight construction noise.
During this time, lane closures on 9000 South and southbound on 1300 West could cause traffic delays in West Jordan.
Commuters should be prepared for those potential delays, UDOT said.
Crews have taken out the sidewalks on the south side of 9000 South. Pedestrians are asked to use the north side of the street and should follow posted detour routes.
