SALT LAKE CITY — The streak of nice spring days is coming to an end this weekend with rain and snow showers.
KSL Weather’s Matt Johnson said March 22 will be much like the spring days Utah has had lately. The temperature will be 66 degrees with mostly cloudy skies.
March 23 is when things are expected to change. There will be wind in the first half of the day, followed by a cold front that will bring in rain in the valley and snow in the mountains.
Johnson said the cooler weather on Saturday could linger into Sunday.
“If you take the two days combined, we could see anywhere from a quarter to a half inch of water along the Wasatch front and that extends all the way down to Cedar City,” Johnson said.
Snow levels will remain high up above 5,000 feet. Johnson said there could be some rain and snow showers on Sunday.
Johnson said the snow totals for the mountain tops are expected to be anywhere from 6 to 12 inches.
Next week will be mostly cloudy with some rain and snow showers.
