SALT LAKE CITY — Members of the International Olympic Committee’s Future Host Commission, along with other IOC, U.S. Olympic and Paralympic leaders continued their tour of the state on Thursday.
Yesterday, the committee was shown around several Salt Lake City-based venues, like Rice-Eccles Stadium and the Delta Center, to get a better feel of how the games would look in the state. They also traveled on the TRAX to take note of the public transportation system in the city.
On Thursday, the committee went to Park City and Midway to take tours at the Utah Olympic Park, Park City Mountain, and Soldier Hollow.
The main purpose of this visit is to discuss Utah’s infrastructure, logistics, and the overall readiness of the state to potentially host the Winter Olympic Games in 2034.
On Friday the group will tour Snowbasin and the Olympic Oval venue.
The official Olympic bid announcement will be held on July 24.
